first we see some one kill some cops in a crime lab using a spear like staff with a lighting bolt at the end, and seems like he was trying to use the same chemicals on him that was used on barry...
we see barry at the museum, looking around hal finds him there and there talking hal is overjoyed that hes back and barry said he shouldnt be.
hal is like ok but you are back and everyone is glad you are.
bart is back in the kid flash uniform, doesnt look to happy that his grandfather is actually back. claiming that wally is the flash.
barry has no time for the parade or the parties given by his friends. hes on the move.. no time to be social, he just wants to help the world it seems. hal is kinda sad by that.
all of a sudden his chest lights up (barry's) out comes savitar and he starts running. but once barry catches up to him and touches him savitar seemingly dies. But then wally, bart, jesse, ajy, the twins all light up as well kinda like lighting pouring out of them.
kinda of a quick read.
The cover is awesome looking. I give it a 9 outta 10
I'm sure there are little tidbits I missed In fact I know there are.
but if your a flash fan pick this shit up, your gonna love it.
and no I cant scan anything my scanner is busted.
but these spoilers are legit
and theres a little powergirl story at the end as well

Just read it...for the second time.
There are parts I LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE. And parts that just don't work at all.
Barry going to the museum and being surrounded by people on their cell phones was interesting. Ethan did a tremendous job on the art. Not much I could nitpick on. Coloring wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Sinclair did fine, but again...he's no Moose. The bit at the start...I for sure thought that was going to be Barry's origin so that was a nice twist. I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes. The last panel in that first "segment" looks great! That's the speed vision that needs to be displayed more often.
Loved Evan's line about getting more Rogues. lol I tend to agree with Barry that everyone's overreacting beause that city is absolutely flooded with statues, banners, and blimps. Ridiculous...
Not a big fan of Jay kissing Barry's ass for three pages, and not too big on Jai/Iris acting like 5 year olds when they are 8-9...but I suppose its for the better. Ethan definitely gets more praise for drawing a very Michael Turner like Wally on one page. Very good visual there.
BIGGEST problem for me. Continuity. Tim Drake, as of right now is still Robin. But there is no reason why he should be in San Francisco at the Teen Titans tower. I get that he might have wanted to see Barry or even just hang with his ex girlfriend Cassie(who is rocking her recently updated costume) and his best friend Bart.....BUT he is supposed to be clear across country dealing with the shit in Gotham. That's why he isn't in Teen Titans anymore remember Geoff! He left them so he can save Gotham, and unless this is after Battle for the Cowl(and we know its not because Tim becomes Red Robin) then it just doesn't fit. Geoff could have replaced Tim with any other Titan. Bart is one of the fastest people on Earth, I'm sure it would be more feasible for Bart to meet up with him than vice versa.
Bart's attitude is understandable but not necessary. I think Bart shares my opinion that Wally is The Flash and Barry's return kind of hinders everyone else. Though I had to agree with Hal when he said that Bart's years of running, away from being THE Flash.
I don't think Hal will play much of a role in this story, besides being their for moral support as will the rest of the League. I don't like Ethan's Iris Allen. She looks far too young...like Nightwing's last girlfriend. She looks good, just too young to pull off her appropriate(approximate) age.
Overall a good read. It didn't feel quick to me, because I really took into Ethan's art and tried to recall every villain within the ever-growing Flash museum(which STILL shouldn't exist anymore, btw).
DC is forcing Power Girl down my throat...She's in Man-Bat too! ugh

I seriously gotta say....what is what that flashback of Henry Allen supposedly killing Nora? Admittedly I'm a continuity nerd, but PLEASE let that be some kind of false memory...related to Hunter Zolomon, perhaps. Because that is a HUGE deal.

Remember though this story's written by the guy who made Parallax a fear bug.

No freaking clue. I'm guessing this is "the case" Barry was referring to, but as far as I know its a completely different of Barry's origin. Because I could have sworn that both his parents had outlived him after COIE....

They did outlive him. And they played semi-prominent roles during parts of his run...so now what, those stories didn't happen?

My guess is that Geoff wants a darker Barry? Give him a reason to always be running....
I don't like it at all. Its so unnecessary. Its ridiculous. I feel like he's trying to make Barry like Hal and Bruce....

Yeah, Barry getting darkened was my one big fear about him returning. That's not what I want to see from him. Oddly, though I'm a huge villains fan, the only heroes I like are the squeaky-clean ones.

I didn't mind him not being thrilled about being a "saint" at all...but this murder is just unnecessary. Its like Geoff wants a reason for people not to like him(personally not Barry).

90% fantastic. This from someone who wants Wally to stay in the spotlight. 5% metacommentary that took me out of the story, including... Bart's attitude is understandable but not necessary. I think Bart shares my opinion that Wally is The Flash and Barry's return kind of hinders everyone else. Though I had to agree with Hal when he said that Bart's years of running, away from being THE Flash. I also think a big part of Bart's attitude isn't the fact that Barry came back -- but the fact that Max didn't. I seriously gotta say....what is what that flashback of Henry Allen supposedly killing Nora? Admittedly I'm a continuity nerd, but PLEASE let that be some kind of false memory...related to Hunter Zolomon, perhaps. Because that is a HUGE deal. Yeah, that seriously bothered me. Not just in the "but...but...continuity!" sense, but in the sense that this completely changes Barry's character, possibly more even than the retcons to Wally's childhood after COIE (apparently no one can have a happy childhood in DC except for Superman, and even then he can't have both parents still alive) -- and waaay to similar to Hunter's background. Its killing me guys. I can't believe he did that..Its so unnecessary. It was like Geoff thinks that a parents death is more relatable to everyone than a happy home. The tragic hero origin now becomes glaringly apparent.
Now Barry will probably take this and use it to get into Forensics, because there was never enough evidence to convict Barry's father and whoever set him up is the same guy who killed the two men....I am not looking forward to that aspect of the coming issues.

Was whalloped in hearing the name Captain Frye.
Really enjoyed the art... It may all very well unfold to be a fantastic story - but I was disappointed to see a retcon in Barry's history to insert tragedy. A hero doesn't need tragedy to be a compelling character. As far as retcons go in comics... Thawne is a time traveler so it's not a problem to change what happened before. But they didn't need that to fuel his fire. If he doesn't remember seeing what happened while he was in the speedforce, than for Barry he's seen his wife die, been on trial for murder, had his face crushed, had children in the future, been held hostage, died saving the multi-verse...what else would you need to impress that moments matter? Even if you dismiss all that (which can easily done since most current readers werent around for that) it goes against the nature of the character and much of what made him stand out as an individual among the heavy hitters of DC comics. Much conversation has been made about what a "boring character" Barry was. Schwartz, Infantino, and Bates among others were always inventive and showed a sense of humor with their storytelling and the use of Flash's powers. To me, this translated to personality of the comic as well as the character and his relationship with his wife, Wally, the Rogues, and Central City. If anything, this severes the lineage of the Flash family from the Golden Age in that Barry idolized Jay Garrick in comics... now he's got dead family driving him to see justice through. It feels completely forced and in the long run (if and when DC moves for a movie franchise) will only make Flash look like a shadow of other colorful characters that have been there and done that.
I am even more fearful of the "black and white" retcon portrayal of his character - Barry wasn't driven by conservative values so much as righting injustices (regardless of whether or not Wally was made conservative for a couple years in Teen Titans in the 80's to keep the team dynamics interesting) ...even nuanced ones. I had a feeling they might take this angle when they showed that artificial contrast of speedy's experience to Wally's in the preview...

It certainly ups Barry's angst-quotient, that's for sure. Poor Henry and Nora; I liked them both.
Of course, as the world's most diehard Top fan, I'm left wondering what's happened to the Top-possesses-Henry storyline, because I really liked it. I'm REALLY hoping that flashback is not as it seems...
