Oh of course. I can't believe people actually think Geoff will just dispose of Wally. He spent years writing Wally and in my opinion wrote him the best along with Mark Waid. Those two writers really defined Wally as a character. So I am in no way concerned about Wally getting dumped just because Barry's back.

Why aren't you? He's made nothing but bluntly insulting comments about Wally's run since his debut as The Flash. I'm not worried about Wally's survival of Rebirth but rather the state of the character AFTER Rebirth. I don't want to see my newly costumed favorite character in a poorly written, low selling, poor art "Titans" book. If Geoff loved Wally then he'd continue to write him instead of the cop out that is Barry Allen....

Last I checked Geoff loves the Flash universe including Wally West(he wrote him for like 5 years!) Geoff has made a huge point that about Wally that doesn't take away from his character or run but actually anazlyes him quite well. All throughout Wally's run his actions and motivations have always been "what would Uncle Barry do?" "How can honor the Flash name Barry made?" And stuff like that. His run was about trying to live up to a hero like Barry. And he did. That's what was great! Wally was amazingly successful as a character because like Nightwing, he forged an identity that differs from his mentor's. He's no longer the sidekick. He's Flash too.

Because Johns continue to call Wally, the sidekick! That's insulting. Wally has indeed proved he is a far different than whatever Barry was. He is more the sidekick or the replacement, and Geoff has yet to call him anything but.

I must admit to being worried as well. I know Geoff wrote a fantastic run with Wally, but everything I've read so far has pointed to Wally getting the short end of the stick....

Before for i start let me say that Wally West is the Flash. When ever someone ask's me who the Flash is and will reply with Wally West. But it feels that Wally's story has been told. We have watched him rise and become the Flash every one (Barry included) should aspire too. But it is good to have a big push behind the Flash with new story oppertunities. And im looking forwad to watching Barry Allen live up to his nephews reputation

Every time I hear that "story has been told", I tend to get upset. Batman, Superman, Captain America have been around for 70 years or more. They have had plenty of stories and have plenty of stories to tell. If you say a character has "run its course" or "his story has been told", then its basically saying "I can't tell a story with this character." That's a WRITER'S PROBLEM not a character problem.

I agree. As much as I'm a Barry fan, I know the real reason Barry is back is because Flash sales have not been good and they're hoping Barry will be a money maker like Hal Jordan has been. Let's face it - it's ALL about money. They're trying to "jump start" the title to make more money - and it'll probably work!

And those characters have either died or been replaced at one point, to try and freshen things up. Only to make a great return later. When Wally returend after his short hiatus, it bombed. Basicaly becasue DC gave it a half hearted approach.

And im looking forwad to watching Barry Allen live up to his nephews reputation I like that new twist to their relationship. Does Barry feel the need to live up to Wally's excellence as Wally always felt he had to do to Barry? Wally is the first sidekick to fullfill the promise. He's not Dick, whining and moaning about filling Batman's role someday, Wally stepped up into the scarlet and gold and made it his own role. No other DC character can really say that. They shouldn't put him out to pasture because the character deserves better treatment than that (and better writers) but what his role will be after Rebirth is the big question. I hope it doesn't turn into a situation like Hal and Kyle wherein Barry steps up to the forefront and Wally is off....somewhere.
