And the Rogues playing a part in Blackest Night...which means we'll probably be seeing Golden Glider, Trickster, and the Top along with others. THAT SHOULD BE SWEET!

Should be awesome, though I wonder what kind of role they will play with only 5 issues to work with and so many things Johns has to tend to with Barry.

the fact that theres only 5 issues worries me because there really should be a LOT in this comic.

5 issues of 40 pages I believe. That's not bad. The fact that Johns said the Rogues would be extremely important but then realized they were only talking about Rebirth and corrected himself saying that the Rogues would be there but not as a major part makes me suspect that he'll be writing the ongoing...

I think he'll probably write a nice year or two on it.

Cool. While I'm not hugely keen on seeing my favourite characters as zombies, I hope they actually get to do stuff, and I'd love to see pissy dead Rogues give some hell to the living ones for some of the things they've done. Also, because I'm the most shameless Top/Glider shipper out there, I hope they come back together

Ethan Van Sciver has already confirmed that Geoff will be indeed returning to write the ongoing once Rebirth has concluded. DC has yet to comment/give an date for the return of the series. I wouldn't be surprised if they started the numbering back at zero. Also, I believe if Rebirth ships on time, then it'll be finished around August, which will be the same time Scott Kollins would be wrapping up his Solomon Grundy miniseries. Don't be shocked to see those back together again.

When did Van Sciver say that? One of my friends talked to Johns at Chicago last year and claimed Johns said he was back on the Flash series, but I'd never heard any confirmation.

This is what I asked Ethan on another website: W.West- Ethan, I'm sure if you've answered this or simply don't care to. But is Flash: Rebirth only 6 issues? And will the trio of you, Geoff and Moose still be on afterwards? Also, what do you think about TWO Flash books like Green Lantern/GLC? Maybe after Rebirth, The Flash could be focused on Barry(depending on what you do to him.lol) and have an All Flash book with rotating stories between the three possibly four(Bart) Flashes? Just a thought..wishful thinking.. Ethan- FLASH: REBIRTH is 6 issues, two of which are slightly oversized. Just like GL REBIRTH. No plans for me to stay afterwards, the other two guys, well, that's up to them! Two Flash books would make sense, considering all of the characters we've got to work with, but we'll see.... I remember asking him AGAIN(and again) whether he would continue on the book after Rebirth, and got a better response..I just have to find it.

Found it! Here is what I asked Ethan(for the 2nd or 3rd time, lol) West- I'm sure someone has asked this(probably me) but are you and Geoff going to be on the Flash title(s?) after the six issues of Rebirth? Ethan- No for me. West- Are you saying Geoff will be staying on? Do you know who the unfortunate guy that has to follow you/and or Geoff(on Flash) will be? Ethan- I am not saying Geoff will be staying on. That's up to him to say! And yes, I know who the awesome artist is who follows me on FLASH. Unless something changes, it's going to be.... West- I love that it'll be out first quarter 09, but it seems that the Flash title will stop after this current arc(This Was Your Life,Wally West), which will end in December! Are you currently up to date with the Flash run since Waid's departure? Do you know if the issue number will restart during/after Rebirth? Will DC go back to Barry's last issue number? Ethan- I don't know about the new series after REBIRTH, or if there'll even BE a new series. It could pick right back up again with the current Flash series, for all we know. (Or for all I'm allowed to tell you!) West- Hey Ethan, whenever you read this, could you do me a huge favor and tell Grant Morrison to pick up The Flash title IF Geoff does not continue after Rebirth?...Thanks! Ethan- Not necessary. And that smiley was his. lol Once again, I'm sure there are more posts of my interrogating/bothering Ethan about the new title, and I'll eventually look those up for ya. But it would be really silly for DC to leave The Flash in someone else hands after Geoff does the hard work.
