I was re-reading #2 of Rogues Revenge today and I caught a very small and minor continutiy error on Geoff's part involing Trickster(Axel) and Gambi. Back during Geoff's run in the issue when all of the Rogues were at the funeral for Capt. Boomerang, there's a scene where Axel insults Owen's scarf and Gambi tells him that scarfs are in but Axel's haricut's out. Axel replies and refers to Gambi by name, "Yeah, whatever, Gambi." HOWEVER, in Rogues' Revenge, the Rogues go to Gambi's place and Axel states that he has no idea who Gambi is at all with a "Who the hell is Gambi" line. Yeah I know it was for the Rogues to explain to the readers who Gambi was but I was just a little surprised by this. Oh well...a small slipup and I'm being nitpicky ;D

I grumbled about that when the issue came out. My friends tried to convince me that Axel's such a little jerk that he probably just forgot They really hate Axel...

I know one (other) person who loves Axel, but most Rogues fangirls hate him because he's considered a pretender to James.
I never really liked him much, but have slowly developed some affection for him after Rogues' Revenge. He was much more sympathetic there.

True he is a pretender but if they consider him a pretender to James, shouldn't they consider Evan a pretender to Sam? I loved the relationship Axel and Evan had for that very reason during Rogues Revenge. They both were not the originals of their identities but have found a home with the Rogues and have earned a place there(well at least Evan has). Very good dynamic.

Oh trust me, most of the people who hate Axel also hate Evan...although typically it's because he killed Piper's parents and framed him. I imagine they haven't seen a lot of Sam's appearances, actually. Piper and Trickster are by far the most popular Rogues amongst fangirls. You mess with them, you mess with the fangirls So yeah, for that reason, many of them don't like the Top either (because of the whole brainwashing thing, never mind that he didn't do it of his own volition). I'm pretty much the only one who does. I like Evan, although it does disturb me that he's become much darker since his early days. But all the Rogues have.

No wonder the guy pays for sex

while i do miss the old trickster - i think it's a good thing that they have a bit of a different dynamic age-wise within the rogues. They're dysfunctional as a family, but the their differences feed the story potential given the fact that they choose to remain together.

No fangirl love for poor Len? No wonder the guy pays for sex You know, that's one of the things I find really interesting about Rogues fandom -- men seem to like Len best, or as one of the best, while women seem to prefer the other guys. I think every fangirl I know does like him, but he's not their favourite. And fangirls tend to get irked that Cold gets all the spotlight while the other Rogues stay in the background a lot of the time. I wonder if Geoff Johns knows that. Papazero, certainly Axel brings an interesting new dynamic to the group. It'll be interesting to see if he can curb his behaviour enough to fit in, or if he eventually gets ostracized from the group. Because for all their talk of family, they're clearly willing to treat certain members badly and kick them out of their social circle.
