Here you go ladies and gents. I think it looks great personally. The Thawne stuff should be interesting and I'm already loving how they're going back to showing the heads of the cast like they used to when Scott was drawing Flash(especially in Crossfire)

Less Thawne, more Rogues...although I may be a teeny bit biased The art looks good, which gladdens me because I haven't liked Kolins' art much in recent years.

A BIT biased? ;D Yeah I'm liking the art(except for the coloring really. Miss the coloring they used to have during Geoff's first run) but it's definitely not terrible. It'll be interesting seeing two Thawne's running around(if the future one is still around at this time)

TAR PIT! Yay! . Haven't seen him for a good while. Owen will most definitely be in for a shock when he finds Daddy Boomer.

We got the issue yesterday in Canada It was pretty good, but still needed more Rogues...I was kinda disappointed that there was only a brief zombie Rogue cameo.

I won't be able to pick this up until Saturday. How much of the living Rogues do we get to see?

The issue pretty much alternates between high-speed Flash vs. Black Lantern action and interludes of the Rogues preparing to deal with the Zombie Rogues. Lower total page count, but they're sprinkled throughout the issue.

It was great to see Scott Kolins' art again - he's especially well-suited to the Rogues and the Black Lanterns. (I loved the Black Reverse Flash design.) It was also great to see something actually *happen* in a story. Yeah, it was setup for issues #2 and #3, but it *felt* less like setup than all 5 issues of Rebirth so far. In some ways, this is the kind of book I wanted Rebirth to be. Now let's get more Wally and Bart, and some zombie Rogues, and we'll be set! I was disappointed that they're keeping Barry's newly-traumatic past, but at least they're doing something with it instead of just letting it hang there. Full review on my blog.

I like that they didn't show the other BL Rogues, just Thawne. That heightens the tension for when Cold and Co. actually do meet up with them. (I found the scene where the Rogues are explaining to Trickster who all has come back from the dead chilling. Just the look on his face...)
Something to ponder: while his mother's murder is new, was I the only one surprised that Barry only shared the evidence with Solivar and not Bruce, even though Bruce offered to help? Barry didn't trust Bruce?
I hope that Johns does expand more with Owen, Bommerang Jr. I've always felt him to be an under-used, under-appreciated character with lots of potential. His scene with Tar Pit in the Rogues cemetary was quite good.

Hmmm, I've been looking through the issue again and the thought just occured to me...what is it that fuels Thawne's speed as a Black Lantern? Is it just the black power ring providing him power or is there some sort of connection to the Speed Force? I'm inclined to think the former but this could defnititely be something to think about and maybe even a reason for him recreating the lab experiment in Rebirth #1.

Aren't all Black Lanterns supposed to possess the powers they had when they were alive? I'm pretty sure that's the case.

Thawne got his power from Flash's uniform - he never had suerspeed before Rebirth #1

Yeah, but he internalized that power so he in effect had super-speed, no matter where it came from.
Anyway, Waid retconned in that he had some kind of experimental treatment to give him speed or make him faster or something. It makes more sense but I prefer the original story.
