www.newsarama.com/comics/090725-sdcc09-dcu-editorial.htmlJohns says "I want to do the same thing with Flash that we've done with Green Lantern," adding that he's going to be doing Flash, and Sterling Gates will be writing Kid Flash. They'll be writing in close contact with each other, a la Johns on Green Lantern and Peter J. Tomasi on Green Lantern Corps. YAY BART!

I can't say that I'm thrilled but I'm interested. I like Sterling Gates work on "Supergirl" but I've never been a huge Bart fan.

I'd love it if Irey and Jai could be recurring characters in Bart's book. Lots of potential for awesomeness there.

I think this could work very well so long as they can get a good, reliable (can do more than 5 issues a year) artist. I read a bit of Sterling Gates' Supergirl (the "Who is Superwoman?" arc) and it was pretty good, if a bit dragged out (probably due to having to come up with enough material until the next super-books crossover) so it will be interesting to see what he can do with a title that isn't so tied down/heavy with crossovers.

Here's the rest of the news, the one month part West has already announced.
) Cyfin wrote: Can you tell us any more about the upcoming Kid Flash series? When it will be starting, who might be penciling it, anything at all? I've been a huge fan of Bart since the Impulse days, and I'm very excited for his new series.
DiDio: I think we announced that Sterling Gates is writing it. And what you're going to see is it premiering somewhere around April or May of next year. It will launch about a month after the launch of the new Flash book.
Nrama: So there's no artist attached yet?
DiDio: At this particular time, I've got a couple of artists who are under consideration. But right now, we're getting the story worked out in conjunction with the events that are going to be unfolding in both Flash and Blackest Night: Flash.
Nrama: It sounds like this comic will be really closely aligned with the Flash comic written by Geoff?
DiDio: It will. What's great is that Sterling and Geoff have worked together in the past, and this is just an extension of their relationship, and they're creating how the storylines will work between the two series together, and how they will unfold when both series come out.

STILL STOKED FOR THIS! Rebirth has been as big a bust as Kick-Ass and Lo3W. The sooner this shows up, the better!

In the most recent 10 questions with Dan Didio, he had this to say on the new Kid Flash series. Not much new info but some interesting things are in there.
3) Alive_Man_Fastest wrote: Hello Dan DiDio,
My question pertains to Kid Flash. Let me first say how excited I am about the Kid Flash book. Impulse is my favorite comic, and what got me into comics. So seeing Bart get his own title once again is like a dream come true.
I know the book probably isn't going to come out until maybe May, but I was hoping for some kind of announcement about it. I would love to know the artist, but I'll settle for any piece of information that hasn't been previously announced.
Thank you for your time, and thank you for doing these 10 answers and a question things, they are a fun Monday surprise.
DiDio: I can tell you that Sterling Gates is going to be working very closely with Geoff Johns so that the Kid Flash book and the Flash book really feel like it's a tandem team more than two separate series. And more importantly, we'll be seeing Kid Flash back in Teen Titans relatively soon as well. That hope should keep fans like "Alive Fastest Man" running at full speed until the series appears in May of next year.
Nrama: He mentioned the Impulse comic in particular. Can we expect Kid Flash to harken back to that comic? Or is the style of this come more comparable to work we've seen from Sterling Gates in the past?
DiDio: I think Sterling's already doing such a great job on Supergirl, and he'll bring a lot of those same sensibilities to Kid Flash. That's one of the reasons we chose him for that series. Also, you'll still see the dynamic between Kid Flash and Max Mercury, if I'm not mistaken. And I think that's new information, so you did get something out of me. But Max will be featured in this series as well. So if somebody's a fan of Impulse, they'll get that relationship back in the Kid Flash series. Because of the Max/Bart relationship, I think they'll be very pleasantly surprised about what the plans are for the book.
